Chris Gould claimed third place with an excellent total of 66 points, largely helped by a tremendous opening nine holes on the Wadi by Faldo course. From the Black Championship Tees, with the course measuring 7301 yards, Gould was quick out the blocks recording 21 points on the front nine, including a birdie three on the tricky 6th hole. Unfortunately a disappointing back nine proved to be the difference on the final afternoon.

As tradition dictates for the annual Engineers Cup there were also prizes for the best score each day and divisional awards.

Division A (0-12 handicap) saw Ewan Dunn claim first prize with 34 points on the Wadi by Faldo followed by 32 points on the Majlis. Ewan’s 66 point total was matched by Ken Matheson, however Ewan’s superior finish edged yet another card count back.

Division B (13-24) produced a clear winner with Seung Je Oh compiling a total of 62 points, thanks to a splendid second round of 35 points. Gordon Wingate produced a brace of consistent rounds, 29 and 30 points, to land second prize.

Two further prizes were awarded for the best score on day one and day two. Chi Won Suh claimed the former with 35 points on the Wadi by Faldo; David Watt matched this over the Majlis during the final round.
